The International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) has launched the first World Map of Cooperative Cultural Heritage, featuring 31 founding sites including India’s iconic Amul Dairy Cooperative. Central to the initiative is the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), which partnered with the ICA on the technical development of the global platform and website.
The Cooperative Cultural Heritage Programme aims to identify and safeguard both tangible and intangible cooperative heritage across regions. Led by the ICA Global Office in Brussels, with mentorship from Brazil’s OCB and strong technical backing from NCDC, the project seeks to place cooperative legacy firmly on the global cultural agenda.
Speaking at the launch in Brasília, NCDC Managing Director Pankaj Bansal said the organisation was proud to contribute to documenting and showcasing “the timeless legacy of cooperation for the world to see.”
