In view of the International Year of Cooperatives 2025, Pankaj Kumar Bansal, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, and Managing Director, NCDC, undertook field visits from December 12 to 15, 2025, to review key cooperative initiatives.
The visits provided an overview of progress in strengthening cooperative institutions, empowering farmers and fishers, and enhancing livelihoods through innovation, improved access to finance and sustainable practices.
Officials assessed ongoing programmes aimed at boosting productivity, market linkages and inclusive growth. The review highlighted the role of cooperatives in driving grassroots development and reinforcing the vision of “Cooperatives Build a Better World” in the run-up to IYC 2025.
