The National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), under the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, organised the NCDC Regional Awards for Cooperative Excellence and Merit – 2025 at Daman recently. The event celebrated the outstanding achievements of primary cooperative societies from the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.
In the Best Primary Credit Cooperative (PACS) – Excellence category, DNH Madhyamik ane Uchatar Madhyamik Shiksakoni Dhiran ane Grahak Sahakari Mandli Ltd., Tokarkhada, Silvassa, was honoured for its exceptional performance and financial discipline.
Under the Best Primary Cooperatives in Dairy Sector – Excellence category, Zari Dudh Utpadak Sahkari Mandali secured top recognition. The Merit Award in the same sector was conferred upon The Progressive Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited, Zapabar, Nani Daman, for its notable contribution to local dairy development.
The awards were presented by Nikhil U. Desai, IAS, Secretary (Cooperation), in the presence of Sanjay Kumar, Regional Director, NCDC. Each Excellence award carried Rs 35,000, while each Merit award included Rs 25,000, along with a certificate and memento, reinforcing the spirit of cooperative excellence and community development.
