As part of the International Year of Cooperatives 2025, the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), Regional Directorate Chandigarh, Sub-Office Jammu, organised the NCDC Regional Cooperative Excellence and Merit Awards 2025 in Jammu and Kashmir on December 31, 2025, giving fresh impetus to the cooperative movement in the Union Territory.
The awards ceremony was held at the office complex of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Jammu, in the presence of Bal Krishna, Additional Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Jammu and Kashmir; Ms Priyanka Bhatt, Joint Registrar (Audit), Cooperative Societies, Jammu and Kashmir; and Akshay Kumar, Assistant Director, NCDC, Jammu.
During the programme, cooperative societies and Farmer Producer Organisations were recognised for their outstanding performance and contribution to grassroots development. In the FPO category, Shivalik Hills Honey FPO Limited of Kathua district received the first prize, while Kashmir Shehjar Organic Honey FPO Cooperative Limited of Pulwama district was awarded the second prize.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Akshay Kumar, Assistant Director, NCDC, Jammu.
