A FPO fair, organized by NCDC and Small Farmers Agriculture Trade Association (SFAC) for two days (19 to 20 October 2023) at the headquarters of NCDC in Delhi proved to be a huge success as almost all the items brought to the fair were shopped by visitors during the two days.
An NCDC release says “On getting good prices, new energy was infused among the farmers. The fair has helped all the FPO in getting recognition at national level.”. The fair was inaugurated by Faiz Ahmed Kidwai, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, in the presence of Managing Director, Small Farmers Agri-Business Association (SFAC), Executive Director NCDC and Chief Director NCDC.
Major Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) of the country participated in the fair. Various products of more than 40 FPOs were exhibited in the fair. This latter was visited by more than 1000 people with visitors getting a new experience of natural and organic products.
The FPO Mela program was also attended by Dr. Chandra Pal Singh Yadav, Chairman, KRIBHCO, Mrs. Archana Verma, Mission Director, National Water Mission, Mrs. Annis Joseph Chandra, MD, NCCF, Mr. Thampi Kosi, MD & CEO, ONDC, among others.
The two-day FPO Mela concluded on 20.10.2023.
