A training programme on the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) was organised by the National Cooperative Development Corporation in Buakhal, Pabo, Pauri district of Uttarakhand.

The programme was chaired by Vikram Singh, Chairman of Ulkeshwari FPO, and witnessed active participation from around 105 farmer members of the Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO).

The primary objective of the training was to create awareness among farmers about crop insurance, including its benefits, registration process, and claim settlement procedures. The session aimed to help farmers better understand how to safeguard their crops against unforeseen risks.

The training was conducted by master trainer Saurabh Sharma, who provided detailed insights into the key features of the scheme. He also addressed farmers’ queries and concerns, ensuring clarity on various aspects of PMFBY.

The initiative is expected to enhance farmers’ participation in crop insurance and strengthen risk management in agriculture.
