NCCT conducts co-op awareness programs in villages

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah stated that the National Council for Cooperative Training (NCCT) has worked towards capacity building for Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) as Common Service Centres (CSC), enabling them to offer 300 e-services for the benefit of rural citizens.

The project began on June 18, 2024, and concluded on November 30, 2024, during which secretaries of 30,134 PACS across the country were trained in the effective utilization of CSC services for PACS and its members.

Following the creation of the Ministry of Cooperation, the Government has undertaken several initiatives to strengthen the cooperative movement in the country. These include measures to promote cooperative education, training, and research & development through the National Council for Cooperative Training (NCCT).

The Ministry has expanded the role of NCCT beyond its regular education and training programs, such as the Higher Diploma in Cooperative Management and MBA in Cooperative Management. It has also assigned additional responsibilities, including preparing case studies and conducting research and development in the cooperative sector.

Furthermore, NCCT is conducting cooperative awareness programs at the village level to educate cooperative societies about various government initiatives aimed at strengthening the cooperative movement. These programs also provide information on government schemes beneficial to cooperatives and the procedures to avail financial assistance under such schemes.
