Union Minister Amit Shah vouched for natural farming as a transformative solution for Indian agriculture, sharing personal success from his own fields where production increased by 1.5 times.
Speaking at ‘Sahkar Samvad’, Shah highlighted that food grown without chemical fertilizers or pesticides leads to better health, improved soil fertility, and reduced water use. He explained that natural alternatives like earthworms replicate the role of chemical fertilizers like urea and DAP.
Shah announced that the Ministry of Cooperation has set up national and export-oriented cooperatives to procure and market crops grown through natural farming. Profits from exports will be transferred directly to farmers’ accounts.
The model promotes environmental regeneration and aims to reduce farmers’ dependence on synthetic inputs. Shah also shared his personal commitment to Vedic living and natural farming after retirement, underscoring the practice’s scientific grounding and long-term benefits.
