Sub:Bamboo as an alternative to fossil fuels should be considered as a focal point for carbon credits

    Respected sir
The government should recognize the need for energy and implement a bamboo sales policy for bamboo farmers. This policy will directly benefit the bamboo farmer’s associates with district co-operatives like us.For this, the Central Government’s *Department of Cooperation can play an important role*.

The Energy Conservation Bill passed on both parliament in this august and December 2022 allows the central government to propose a carbon credit trading scheme.
If the central government is going to introduce a trade scheme and if it benifit directly to the bamboo producers it will encourage them to becoming part of saving of our environment.*Plantation area will dramatically increase and will lower the foot prints of carbon by the way of sequestration and storing.

A damaged environment will not be repaired. It will affect everyone. So kindly consider Bamboo.its having commercial aspect to generate electricity from biomass, use to produce Ethanol,Bio-CNG,Hydrgen fuel and simultaneously lower the Co2 level in environment by carbon sequestration.
Kindly check current *Mauna Loa Observatory Report(Co2 report)

    Date Co2 levels
    30th Dec 2021 417.12 ppm
    30th Dec 2022 419.10 ppm
    03rd Dec 2022 417.51 ppm
    03rd Dec 2023 419.62 ppm

430 ppm is red level threat to our environment &will affect agriculture
food production as well as rise many environment issues and the end of human race will begin.
*Planting bamboo will help reduce today’s Co2 level*.

We here by request you to use Pressler’s formula for bamboo growers a low-cost system for finding carbon sequestration and should be implemented through the Department of Agriculture and Cooperatives.

Secondly, now bamboo farming business becomes part of the ecological system but the problem of bamboo flowers arises, fear looming on bamboo industry and farmers becoming directionless. This issue of bamboo flowering should be resolved by appointing experienced committee immediately. With the help of agricultural researchers, bamboo growers of every district should get trust and the problem of bamboo flowers will be solved. The agriculture department should control the seedling suppliers.

    Thank you.

    Yours Faithfully,

    Ashok P Deshmukh(Chairman)
