Nandini led ICNW figures in list of Niti Aayog

An Empowered Group meeting, chaired by Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant has reached out to Indian Cooperative Network for Women (ICNW), among others for coordinating strategies to fight off Covid.

Being the only co-op body in the list, Nandani Azad led Indian Cooperative Network for Women is today a social movement of 1 million in three southern states of India with 14 branches spread over 3840 villages and 2426 slums in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant is planning to reach out to more than 1 lakh civil society organisations. Besides ICNW, Akshaya Patra, Narayan Sevasansthan, Narayan Seva Sansthan, Karuna Trust and Disha Foundation are also in the list.

These organizations were informed of the initiatives taken by the government to fight off Covid and their help was solicited for the same. The government has set up six empowered groups to address various issues on the management of COVID-19.
