Namkum LAMPS becomes State’s first pilot e-PACS

Jharkhand based Namkum LAMPS (Large Area Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society) has become the first pilot e-PACS (Primary Agricultural Credit Society) in the state.

With this development, all services of the society will now be offered in a fully digital format, enhancing transparency, efficiency, and ease of access for members.

This achievement is part of the national initiative under the Ministry of Cooperation to computerise PACS across the country. Namkum LAMPS was selected as the first society in the state to implement the e-PACS model. A formal certificate was presented to the LAMPS team to mark the successful transition.

Officials emphasized that the move to e-PACS would bring multiple benefits to rural and tribal areas. These include improved financial services, accurate record-keeping, transparency in operations, and faster delivery of benefits to cooperative members.

The certification event saw the participation of several dignitaries and officials from the Cooperation Department, NIC, NABARD, and other supporting institutions. They commended the efforts of the Namkum LAMPS team and highlighted how this model will serve as a blueprint for other societies.

The state government also announced that the implementation of e-PACS will soon expand to other districts, including Gumla, Lohardaga, Khunti, Simdega, and Ranchi, in a phased manner.
