On Monday, Vinit Nahata, Chair of the Cooperative Task Force at PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, had the honor of presenting medals to the winners at the closing ceremony of the 2025 World Para Athletics Championships. The event took place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.

This prestigious championship, held from September 27 to October 5, 2025, was the first of its kind hosted in India and South Asia. Over 2,200 athletes from 104 countries competed across 186 events. India delivered a remarkable performance, securing 22 medals, 6 gold, 9 silver, and 7 bronze, finishing 10th overall.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the Indian contingent’s historic achievement and expressed pride in hosting the tournament.

The closing ceremony was a testament to the athletes’ resilience and the event’s success in promoting inclusivity and excellence in para athletics.
