Though the Cooperative movement in the North-East is perceived to be weak, cooperatives have not failed to keep pace with counterparts elsewhere in contributing their bit in the current situation.

Nagaland State Cooperative Bank has donated Rs 5 lakh towards the Chief Minister fund in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. The news was shared by the bank Vice-Chairman Kekhwengulo Lea with Indian Cooperative over the phone.

Lea said, “Our bank has contributed Rs 5 lakh towards the CM relief fund in order to help Nagaland government for its preparation in fighting the pandemic and in undertaking a major relief work for the needy in the hour of crisis”, he added.

Lea further added that the amount has been credited to the bank account of the CM relief fund. Besides, we are also active at ground zero and helping the people in all possible ways.

“Our bank is also providing the door to door cash facility to the people through its mobile ATM van. Our van is moving from colony to colony to make withdrawal of cash for account holders of all banks convenient”, Lea informed.
