Nagaland’s cooperative dept has informed that the state has 8,877 registered cooperative societies and 7 state level cooperative societies as of January 31, 2023 , reports Morung Express.
Speaking in a meeting the Minister of Cooperation, Jacob Zhimomi described the department of cooperation as the ‘social fabric’ of society adding that it has huge scope to work for the upliftment of society.
Praising the ‘One Village, One Cooperative Society’ idea, the minister underlined the importance of streamlining defunct cooperative societies.
A large number of state govt. officials also took part in the meeting.
