NAFSCOB holds AGM in Jaipur today; may discuss model bylaws

The apex body of state cooperative banks-Nafscob is holding its Annual General Meeting and also its Annual Performance Awards today (Tuesday) at Jaipur, Rajasthan.

The representatives from state cooperative banks, district central cooperative banks, PACS and others will participate in a series of events organized on this occasion.

It is worth mentioning that after a gap of 18 years, the apex body is holding a meeting in Rajasthan.

Discussions will be held about the Model byelaws prepared by the Union Ministry of Cooperation and about how to strengthen the three-tier structure, among others.

There are 34 state cooperative banks in India and 351 district central cooperative banks with a network of 13,670 branches.

The deposits of StCBs stood at Rs 2,40,953 crore as on 31st March 2022 whereas borrowings at Rs 1,23,785 crore. Besides, the deposits of DCCBs stood at Rs 4,12,573 crore as on 31st March 2022 whereas borrowings at Rs 1,28,524 crore in the 2021-22 FY.
