Fulfilling its promise, the agri cooperative Nafed has laid the foundation stone of the Municipal Solid Waste Processing Plant of 350 TPD Capacity at Jammu.

Jammu and Kashmir lieutenant governor Manoj Sinha, virtually performed the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony in the presence of Avny Lavasa (IAS), commissioner-Jammu Municipal Corporation, Nafed MD Sanjeev K Chadha and other officials.

The objective of establishing this plant is to reduce issues related to the unscientific disposal of municipal solid waste in Jammu city.

At the estimated project cost of Rs 80 crore and project timeline of 2 years, NAFED will establish a scientific system for waste segregation, processing, and disposal of effluents, emissions, and bio-degradable waste according to the norms of the J&K Pollution Control Board, said one of the top officials of Nafed.
