NAFED seeks support for Co-operative Agriculture

NAFED has launched a nationwide campaign urging citizens to pledge their support for cooperative agriculture, aiming to strengthen rural India through collective farming efforts. This initiative, in collaboration with MyGov, aligns with the International Year of Cooperatives 2025 and is part of NAFED’s broader mission to promote sustainable and self-reliant agricultural practices.

Citizens are encouraged to take the pledge by visiting pledge.mygov.in/support-cooperative-agriculture before the deadline on June 9, 2025, at 5 PM IST. Upon completion, participants receive a digital certificate, symbolizing their commitment to the cooperative movement.

In addition to the pledge, NAFED has initiated several engagement activities to commemorate the International Year of Cooperatives. These include an Agricultural Cooperation Quiz and an essay contest titled “Words of Cooperation,” both designed to raise awareness about the significance of cooperative principles in India’s agricultural sector.

NAFED, established in 1958, plays a pivotal role in organizing, promoting, and developing the marketing of agricultural produce in India. Through initiatives like this pledge campaign, NAFED continues to foster community participation and highlight the importance of cooperative agriculture in achieving food security and rural empowerment.
