NAFED launches Rajasthan’s First ‘Nafed Bazaar’ in Jaipur

The first ‘Nafed Bazaar’ in Rajasthan was inaugurated last week at Nehru Sahakar Bhawan, Jaipur, marking a significant step toward strengthening farmer–consumer linkages in the state.

The initiative has been set up by the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED) under its “Farmer to Kitchen” concept.

The new outlet aims to ensure farmers receive fair prices for their produce while consumers get access to pure, certified, and quality-assured products at reasonable rates. The model is designed to create a transparent and sustainable marketing channel, reducing intermediaries and enhancing farmers’ income security.

The Bazaar was inaugurated by Rajasthan’s State Cooperation Minister Gautam Dak. Also present on the occasion were Anandhi, Principal Secretary and Registrar, Cooperative Societies, and Ramprakash Chaudhary, Director, NAFED, along with senior officials from the Cooperative Department and NAFED.

Officials described the initiative as a major boost to Rajasthan’s cooperative movement and a practical step toward inclusive and farmer-centric agricultural marketing reform.
