Nafed Managing Director Sanjeev Chadha launched the High Yielding Onion Seeds variety developed by NAFED through its seed production program in Maharashtra with a 600-farmer base.
The CoS has assigned a target of 250 MT of Onion Seed production to NAFED. The Federation aims to distribute these Cost-effective High yielding Onion seeds to farmers through State Governments, Cooperative Societies, and FPOs.
NAFED plans to expand its Onion Seed production program under its flagship programme.
These seeds would help farmers increase productivity level of their onion crop & contribute to the attainment of PM’s Vision of Doubling Farmers Income, claimed a Nafed official.
