In a major move to bolster India’s agricultural infrastructure, the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd. (NAFED) and Bharatiya Beej Sahakari Samiti Ltd. (BBSSL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen the country’s seed sector and improve the overall agri-input supply chain.
The strategic partnership aims to ensure timely access to high-quality seeds and other essential agricultural inputs for farmers across the nation.
By promoting a cooperative-driven and transparent framework, the collaboration is poised to support scalable and sustainable growth in the agricultural ecosystem.
Through this MoU, NAFED and BBSSL will jointly work toward streamlining seed production, distribution, and availability, thereby enhancing productivity and reducing dependency on fragmented supply channels.
This alliance also aligns with the government’s vision of empowering farmers and reinforcing cooperative institutions as vital stakeholders in rural development.
Officials from both organizations emphasized the importance of this collaboration in delivering real-time support to farmers and strengthening India’s agri-value chain from the grassroots level.
