NAFED awards Scholarships to Farmers’ Children

In a significant initiative aimed at strengthening the cooperative sector through social empowerment, three children of farmers were awarded scholarship cheques of Rs 1.01 lakh each under the newly launched KALYAN Scholarship Scheme of NAFED.

The scholarships were presented by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah in the presence of Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at a function held at Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan in New Delhi.

The scheme seeks to support higher education opportunities for the children of farmers associated with the cooperative ecosystem, reflecting the vision of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi” (Prosperity through Cooperation).

The scholarship distribution formed part of a broader event focused on promoting digital innovation and cooperative development. The initiative is expected to encourage educational advancement among farming families while reinforcing the cooperative sector’s commitment to inclusive growth and social welfare.
