National Federation of State Cooperative Agriculture and Rural Development Banks (NAFCARD) Chairman Dolar Kotecha, paid a courtesy call on Dr. Ashish Kumar Bhutani, Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, on Thursday at the Ministry’s office in Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan, New Delhi.

During the meeting, issues related to the computerisation of Agriculture and Rural Development Banks (ARDBs) and the progress of various initiatives undertaken by the Ministry of Cooperation to strengthen the Long Term Cooperative Credit Structure (LTCCS) were discussed.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Kotecha also met Pankaj Bansal, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation. He highlighted key concerns and challenges being faced by LTCCS institutions and urged the Ministry’s support for their early resolution.

Speaking to Indian Cooperative after the meetings, Dolar Kotecha said that the interaction with the Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, was primarily a courtesy meeting. He added that a detailed and focused meeting on LTCCS-related issues is proposed to be held next week, in which specific matters concerning ARDBs and the long-term cooperative credit framework will be discussed in depth.

Kotecha expressed confidence that the Ministry of Cooperation would continue to extend its support for strengthening LTCCS and improving the operational efficiency of ARDBs across the country.
