NABARD organized a “Cooperative Conference” in Shimla on Monday to mark the International Year of Cooperatives 2025, with Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri attending as the Chief Guest.
Highlighting the pivotal role of cooperatives in the state, the Deputy CM emphasized that the cooperative movement is not merely a system but a strong foundation built on public trust, participation, and self-reliance.
During the conference, several Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) were felicitated for their outstanding performance in serving farmers and rural communities. NABARD representatives stressed the importance of engaging the younger generation with cooperatives, strengthening the capacities of these societies, and modernizing them through continuous support and guidance.
The event showcased NABARD’s ongoing commitment to promoting cooperative development, financial inclusion, and rural empowerment through sustainable and innovative cooperative models. It provided a platform to celebrate achievements while charting a roadmap for the future of cooperatives in the region.
