Reinforcing the need for a robust and inclusive rural credit framework, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) Chairman Dr Shaji K. V. emphasised seamless credit flow as a key driver of rural development during his visit to the Madhya Pradesh.
Engaging with senior officials and banking leaders, he underlined that timely and accessible credit is essential for empowering farmers, self-help groups, and rural entrepreneurs. In discussions with R. C. Behera of Madhya Pradesh Grameen Bank, the focus remained on improving operational efficiency and leveraging digital tools to enhance last-mile credit delivery.
The Chairman also met Manoj Gupta of Madhya Pradesh State Cooperative Bank, highlighting the crucial role of cooperative banks in ensuring uninterrupted and inclusive credit access across rural areas.
Reviewing key initiatives with C. Sarawathi, he stressed measurable impact, stronger supervision, and effective documentation. The visit reaffirmed NABARD’s commitment to strengthening cooperative-led rural credit systems for sustainable growth.
