Yashashree Munde, daughter of late BJP leader Gopinath Munde, has stepped into the electoral arena by contesting for a directorial seat on the Vaidyanath Urban Cooperative Bank board in Beed, media outlets report.
Unlike her politically active sisters, Pankaja and Pritam, this marks Yashashree’s first foray into elections. An advocate by profession and English-medium educated, she filed her nomination on the last day, July 12, with both sisters by her side.
The polling is scheduled for August 10 and counting on August 12. The election, for 17 seats, holds significance as the Munde family has long controlled the influential cooperative bank.
