Mumbai DCB: Alleged RTI activist held

A man in Borivli in Mumbai has been taken into custody for demanding several lakhs of rupees from Mumbai district cooperative bank for getting the criminal cases pending against the bank settled.

The man claimed to be an RTI worker and was nabbed while accepting Rs 1.5 lakh. The Anti -Corruption Bureau has booked him under various sections of Prevention of Corruption Act.

The bank is headed by an MNS MLA. Earlier when the bank accused several cooperative organizations of cheating it, the EOW had arrested employees of many credit cooperative banks.
