NABARD Chief General Manager Manikumar Sivaramakrishnan commended the Maharashtra State Cooperative (MSC) Bank for its state-of-the-art Cyber Security Operations Centre (C-SOC) during a recent visit to the bank’s headquarters.
Impressed by the technological sophistication of the facility, Shivaramakrishnan remarked, “I have visited similar centres in two or three other state cooperative banks, but the C-SOC at MSC Bank stands out as a truly high-tech facility. It is among the finest in India’s cooperative sector.”
Drawing an international parallel, he referred to a German cooperative IT organization that supports over 750 cooperative banks through a dedicated team of more than 12,000 professionals, generating annual profits of €1.6 billion. “The infrastructure I’ve seen here at MSC Bank is comparable to global benchmarks. It showcases the bank’s leadership in cybersecurity and digital transformation,” he added.
He also appreciated the bank’s cooperative ethos, noting that MSC Bank provides its C-SOC services free of cost to other cooperative banks. “It’s heartening to see a leading institution extending its capabilities for the collective benefit of the sector,” he said.
Currently, Pune District Central Cooperative Bank, Satara DCCB, and Sindhudurg DCCB have been successfully integrated with MSC Bank’s C-SOC. The centre provides a centralized platform for monitoring, preventing, and responding to cyber threats, significantly enhancing the digital safety net for member banks.
Shivaramakrishnan concluded by stating that MSC Bank’s initiative sets a strong benchmark for cybersecurity preparedness in India’s cooperative banking landscape, and encouraged more institutions to embrace such forward-looking solutions for long-term digital resilience.
