The Cooperation Department Madhya Pradesh has set an ambitious target to enroll 10 lakh new members through Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) in the upcoming financial year.
The directive was issued by Principal Secretary (Cooperation) and Administrator of Apex Bank Madhya Pradesh, D.P. Ahuja, during a meeting with CEOs of 38 District Central Cooperative Banks.
Reviewing progress on KCC, loan disbursement, PACS computerisation, and deposit mobilisation, Ahuja instructed banks to adopt a planned strategy to achieve the membership target. He emphasised that despite challenges, the long-term benefits would significantly strengthen the cooperative credit movement in the state.
Managing Director of Apex Bank, Manoj Gupta, informed that a statewide campaign will be conducted from April 14 to May 15, 2026, to onboard new members. Each member will contribute Rs 600 as share capital, with proper receipts and online entries ensured. NABARD will provide Rs 1,000 per camp, subject to documentation.
Strict action has also been directed against fraud and embezzlement cases, including property attachment under legal provisions to recover misappropriated funds.
