Madhya Pradesh has emerged as a frontrunner in the digital transformation of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), setting a national benchmark through its swift and committed adoption of the exclusive ePACS ecosystem.

The initiative, implemented by NABARD under the guidance of the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, highlights the state’s remarkable progress in modernising grassroots cooperative institutions.

As one of the earliest states to implement Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)-based on-system audits in FY 2023–24, Madhya Pradesh has demonstrated exemplary digital leadership. The transition has significantly enhanced transparency, operational efficiency and accuracy across thousands of PACS.

This transformation has been driven by a combination of targeted training programmes, structured monitoring mechanisms, and financial incentives designed for PACS officials and master trainers.

NABARD, through its Facebook communication, described Madhya Pradesh as a model of how technology, capacity building, and policy support can work together to uplift rural cooperative frameworks.

The series, shared by NABARD, highlights best practices from across India under the PACS Computerisation Project, with Madhya Pradesh standing out as a shining example of innovation-driven rural transformation.
