MP: Co-ops selling chicken thru apps

In a delayed news item reaching our desk, the Cooperative department of Madhya Pradesh has come up with a mobile apps available on Google Playstore for buying chicken from co-operative societies.

Chicken breed known as “Kadaknath” which is said to have nutritious and medicinal properties would be sold through this app, informed state co-op minister Vishwas Sarang. Sarang, himself a cooperator is on the board of NLCF.

The mobile app aims to connect poultries as well as co-op societies. He said the app would provide marketing platform to 430 members of 21 societies in Jhabua and Alirajpur districts and that more societies are being added to this platform.

This chicken breed Kadaknath is mainly reared in Jhabua district. The state-run hatcheries annually produce about 2.5 lakh chickens of the Kadaknath variety.
