MP: Co-op officials collude with builders

Some cooperative dept officials were in cahoots with builders getting a non-existent colony regularized in Indore in Madhya Pradesh. The state Lok Ayukta police have booked them all. According to the police, Sarthi Housing Cooperative Society, Vaibhav Lakshmi Housing Society and some other housing societies were also involved in the case.

The Lok Ayukta police lodged FIR against all the involved persons under Sections 13(1)D, 13(2) of PC Act and under Sections 420, 467, 468, 471, 406, 12b of the IPC.

As per preliminary inquiry, Shriram Housing Co-op Society that developed Heena Palace Colony is registered in the records with a registration number in -1960 but the society allegedly tampered with the date for selling land and made it-2000.

Despite selling 15 acres of land to a builder, the Shriram Society still had a large portion of land on which it had mentioned Heena Palace Colony in records. It colluded with the builder and the housing cooperative societies, and showing their land as part of Heena Palace Colony and applied for regularising it.

An application for regularisation of Heena Palace Colony was filed in 2009 by a self- proclaimed president of the Heena Palace Colony Association.
