The Dabhaura cooperative bank in Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh is in the news for wrong reasons. There are allegations of serious financial irregularities in the bank.
The scam in the bank recently touched off a heated argument between the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress in the MP assembly, reports UNI.
The Congress says the CID probe is a lot of eyewash and nothing less than a CBI investigation could reveal the truth, the party asserts.
However, the govt. claims an inquiry into the fraud revealed irregularities to the tune of Rs. 16.14 crore of which Rs 13 crore has already been recovered, the govt says.
