As per the notification of Odisha govt’s Cooperation department, members of primary cooperative societies in the state would be elected on June 19 and 26 in the first phase of elections.
Earlier the panchayats and urban local bodies had gone to the polls.
Sources say elections of members of primary cooperative societies could not be held due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Elections will be held in 7,076 primary cooperative societies in the State with a membership of over 30 lakh.
