Mullanpur police in Mohali, Punjab arrested four office bearers of the Indian cooperative House Building Society on Sunday for cheating and forgery, according to Indian Express reports.
The accused were president, vice president, secretary and treasurer of the society. The FIR was registered under various sections of the IPC.
The case was registered after an inquiry was conducted by Mohali police following allegations that the accused had forged the signatures of farmers for change of land use (CLU).
