Mizoram on Friday joined the nationwide celebrations of the 72nd All India Cooperative Week, with Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma inaugurating the state-level function at Vanapa Hall, Aizawl.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that the cooperative movement has always been an integral part of Mizoram’s socio-economic structure. He noted that Mizos, known for their hard work and commitment, have always advanced through collective effort.
“Cooperatives provide an effective platform for our people, especially those facing difficulties in agriculture, livelihood and local enterprise,” he said.
He urged cooperative institutions such as MULCO, MAHCO and MAHFED to take a leading role in empowering farmers, artisans and grassroots entrepreneurs.
Cooperation Minister Pu P.C. Vanlalruata was also present on the occasion.
As part of the ceremony, three cooperatives-Khanpui MPACS, Tualte MPACS and Saipum MPACS-were honoured for their outstanding performance.
The event marked Mizoram’s formal participation in the 72nd All India Cooperative Week (14–20 November), celebrated nationwide with a focus on strengthening grassroots cooperatives for inclusive growth.
