In a major move to strengthen cooperative governance, the Ministry of Cooperation has granted access to the CRCS (Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies) portal to a few states.
This will enable state governments to directly monitor the functioning of Multi-State Cooperative Societies (MSCS) operating within their jurisdictions.
With this access, states will be able to view annual returns and other statutory filings submitted by MSCS, promoting greater transparency and oversight.
A key official from a State RCS office emphasized that State Registrars will now play a more proactive role in tracking and reporting the performance and compliance of these societies.
Additionally, to further enhance monitoring, a regional office of the Central Registrar is being established in Pune, Maharashtra.
