In a significant boost to India’s cooperative banking sector, the Union Ministry of Cooperation has congratulated Saraswat Co-operative Bank for surpassing the landmark Rs 1 lakh crore in total business.

The achievement, highlighted in a recent Facebook post by the Ministry of Cooperation, has been hailed as a testament to the strength and resilience of the cooperative movement.

Recognizing the bank’s 108-year legacy, the Ministry noted that this milestone reflects strong governance, financial discipline, and the enduring trust of its customers. Despite challenging economic conditions, the bank’s consistent growth underscores the potential of well-managed urban cooperative banks in driving inclusive financial progress.

The Ministry emphasized that such accomplishments reinforce the role of transparent and professionally managed cooperatives in contributing meaningfully to India’s economic development, while also setting a benchmark for others in the sector.
