In a major step towards boosting financial inclusion, the Bihar State Cooperative Bank inaugurated its Gold Loan Scheme and a cutting-edge Payment Gateway facility at a grand event held in Patna on Monday. The launch took place in the presence of State Cooperation Minister Prem Kumar, highlighting the government’s commitment to strengthening the cooperative banking sector.
Under the newly introduced scheme, customers can avail gold loans ranging from Rs 20,000 to Rs 5 lakh, offering a lifeline of swift financial assistance to farmers, traders, and the general public across the state. The advanced payment gateway aims to promote seamless digital transactions, in line with the Centre’s push towards a cashless economy.
State Cooperative Bank Chairman Ramesh Chandra Chaubey, NCCF Chairman Vishal Singh, and several senior officials graced the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, dignitaries emphasized that the initiative will empower citizens through easy access to credit and convenient financial services, while also modernizing cooperative banking infrastructure across Bihar.
