Emphasizing the theme of “Prosperity through Cooperation, Realizing Antyodaya,” the Annual General Meeting of Patliputra Central Co-operative Bank was held at Panash Banquet Hall, Patna last week, as part of the International Year of Co-operatives 2025.
Bihar’s Cooperation Minister, Dr. Prem Kumar, attended the event, highlighting the critical role of cooperative banking in strengthening the rural economy.
Speaking at the AGM, Dr. Kumar stressed the importance of transparency, accountability, and technological innovation in empowering the cooperative banking system.
He encouraged all primary agricultural credit societies (PACS) to undergo computerization and adopt sustainable practices that enhance financial capacity and profitability. Reducing Non-Performing Assets (NPAs) and promoting non-agricultural loans were also highlighted as key priorities.
The minister concluded by reinforcing that a strengthened cooperative banking system, combined with localized agricultural practices, can significantly contribute to rural prosperity and sustainable economic growth in Bihar.
