While replying to a query raised by a Rajya Sabha member on Nano-DAP, Union Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers Bhagwanth Khuba said, “The report has indicated that with the use of Nano DAP as seed treatment and foliar applications, there is a possibility of saving of granular DAP conventionally applied”.
He further added, “On 2nd March 2023, notified IFFCO and CIL respectively to manufacture the Nano DAP for a period of three years”.
“As per the information provided by IFFCO, their Nano DAP has 7-9 percent nitrogen and 15-17 percent P205. Further, preliminary field trails were conducted by IFFCO and CIL on selected crops in selected ICA institutes. As of now, the country doesn’t import Nano DAP”, he added.
