Union Ministry of Cooperation Director Kapil Meena last week visited various cooperative institutions in Rajasthan’s Kota district, urging them to diversify business activities, promote central government schemes extensively, and ensure their benefits reach the grassroots level.
During the visit, Meena inspected the Kota District Milk Producers’ Union and chaired a meeting at the head office of Kota Central Cooperative Bank. He directed officials to expedite the flagship PACS computerization project and planted a sapling under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative at the bank premises.
He also visited the Bhadhana, Nayagaon, and Rangpur Gram Seva Sahakari Samitis, instructing them to accelerate progress in PACS computerization, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samruddhi Kendra initiatives, and business diversification.
As part of the world’s largest grain storage scheme, Meena inspected 500 MT warehouses constructed by the Morpa, Dhakadkhedi, and Borkheda Gram Seva Cooperative Societies. Praising their cost-effectiveness and quality, he advised leasing them out and undertaking grain storage activities to enhance income and benefit local farmers through central and state schemes.
Meena also reviewed operations at Borkheda society’s mini bank and suggested improvements. Senior cooperative officials, bank executives, and society chairpersons accompanied him during the visit.
