The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) has launched a probe into alleged exam malpractices and backdoor appointments at Marampally Service Cooperative Bank in Ernakulam. A case was registered against bank secretary Fathima T.K., Geetha C., who prepared the exam papers, and Saneesh, who assisted her, media reports say.

The February 2024 exam was held for three peon posts, a salesman, and a night watchman. Allegations surfaced that certain candidates were preselected, with answer booklets manipulated to ensure their selection.

Candidates approached the Kerala High Court, prompting a VACB probe. Investigators found marks awarded for unattempted questions and are examining potential financial motives. Statements have been recorded, and further investigations are underway.
