Hundreds of depositors, including widows, farmers and pensioners, remain unable to access their savings after large-scale malpractice surfaced at the Manjalloor Rural Cooperative Bank in Kerala, media reports say.
An inquiry report submitted to the state government in July 2025 blamed the former leadership and staff for misappropriating over Rs 22 crore, calling it a “well-planned loot.”
Despite the report, depositors like 61-year-old Ramani Rajappan continue to struggle for relief. The present management says recovery efforts are underway, but resolution may take time.
