As part of the International Year of Cooperatives 2025, the NCDC Regional Award for Cooperative Excellence and Merit, 2025 was presented to ten cooperative societies from Manipur. The award ceremony was held recently, at the Institute of Cooperative Management (ICM) Conference Hall, Lamphelpat, Imphal.
The event was attended by the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Government of Manipur, along with senior officials and representatives from the cooperative sector. Also present were the Director of ICM, Imphal; a Governing Council Member of Tribubhan Sahakar University; the District Cooperative Officer, Imphal West; and the Deputy Director of the NCDC Satellite Office, Shillong.
The awards were conferred in recognition of the outstanding performance, effective management practices, and contribution of the selected cooperative societies to the socio-economic development of the state.
The programme highlighted the role of cooperatives in strengthening livelihoods, promoting inclusive growth, and supporting community-based development initiatives in Manipur.
