IICTF: Majestic co-op trade fair fills one’s heart with pride

So well displayed are the products of co-operatives that taking a stroll in the Hall Number 7 of Pragati Maidan would fill anybody connected to the cooperative movement with a sense of pride.

NCDC’s India International Trade Fair has taken off today on Friday with Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and his deputies lighting the lamp. What makes the show all the more interesting is the fact that co-op bodies are in a healthy competition with each other to attract visitors to their stalls.

Hundreds of visitors both domestic and international could be spotted taking leisurely strolls across different stalls. They would stop at a stall, examine a product briefly and move on to the next one. ”Today being the first day, we first want to have a feel of the place,” said a few visitors to Indian Cooperative.

Some of the stalls attracting visitors continuously include Sahakar Bharati’s novel venture Simply Desi. Stalls of IFFCO, Kribhco, Fishcopfed, Nafucb, ULCCS are competing with stalls from foreign countries including countries like Japan, USA, Australia and many others.

Cooperative leaders are also standing there before their stalls displaying their pride and enthusiasm. “The show has just begun and the footfalls are sure to increase with time”, said one of the stall-owners.

The sight is indeed captivating with several groups of leaders taking a detour to the Halls separately. If Minister Narendra Singh Tomar was visiting stalls in the company of Secretary Sanjay Agrawal and NCDC MD, Sundeep Naik, among others, NCUI President Chandra Pal was spotted moving with Nafed Chairman and many other co-operators.

IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi was spotted moving with Bajrang Lal, the senior RSS leaders and many others. The sights were worth seeing!
