The Maharashtra State Registrar and Commissioner of Cooperative Societies has extended the deadline for cooperative societies to hold their annual general meetings (AGMs) until October 31, 2025.
Under Section 75(1) of the Maharashtra Cooperative Societies Act, 1960, AGMs were originally required to be completed by September 30, six months after the financial year ended.
Commissioner and Registrar Deepak Taware issued the order citing extreme rainfall and floods across several districts in September, which disrupted normal life and hampered AGM arrangements.
The one-month extension allows societies to meet legal requirements without facing penalties.
