The Lunglei District Cooperative Development Committee (DCDC) convened on February 18 at the DC Conference Hall under the chairpersonship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Pi Rochuangkimi Khenglawt to review the progress and future roadmap of co-op societies in the district. The meeting focused on strengthening cooperative institutions and accelerating grassroots development.
District Cooperative Officer and DCDC Convener Pu S. Lalremngheta highlighted key developments, including the grant of a non-bulk petrol and diesel storage licence to Tlabung Zodin MPACS Ltd, which has also been selected under the Mizoram Handholding Scheme. All 216 registered cooperative societies in Lunglei have been updated on the National Cooperative Database Portal, though new registrations face technical delays.
Leitlangpui M-PACS currently runs the district’s only PM Janaushadi Kendra among Mizoram M-PACS. Societies were also shortlisted under the National Livestock Mission and RKVY to boost co-op-led farm and allied activities.
