Dr Kiran Thakur, Chairman of Lokmanya Multi-State Cooperative Society and Advisory Group Editor of Tarun Bharat, has been conferred a prestigious state-level honour in recognition of his notable contribution to the Goa Liberation Movement.
The award was presented by Goa Governor Purushottam Ashok Gajapathi Raju at a special ceremony attended by Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, Union Minister of State Shripad Naik, Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar, Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, Chief Secretary Dr V. Candavelou and Freedom Fighters Association President Dada Desai.
Dr Thakur’s felicitation is being seen as a recognition of his enduring contribution to the Goa Liberation Movement and public life.
Widely respected for his leadership in the cooperative sector, journalism and social service, he has played a significant role in promoting cooperative values and community development.
The honour has been welcomed by members of the cooperative fraternity and admirers across Goa and Maharashtra.
