Libberhedi Co-op Sugarcane Committee holds AGM

The Fifth Annual General Meeting of the Libberhedi (Uttarakhand) Co-operative Sugarcane Development Committee, Mangalore, was held on Monday at Mangalore.

The meeting featured the presentation of the committee’s income and expenditure statements for the financial years 2023-24 and 2024-25 by President Neeshu Rathi, which were unanimously approved by all members present.

Members discussed several measures to enhance the committee’s revenue, including the establishment of a petrol pump, gas agency, promotion of organic farming, subsidized distribution of agricultural equipment, construction of the committee’s own building, and steps to increase sugarcane prices to strengthen the financial condition of local farmers.

President Rathi highlighted that this is the first committee in Uttarakhand to complete its audit for 2024-25 and formally approve the balance sheet through an annual general meeting.

Former Cabinet Minister Swami Yatishwaranand, the chief guest, praised the committee’s management for its transparency and timely execution of initiatives. He also emphasized the state government’s commitment to sugarcane farmers, including timely payments by sugar mills and provision of subsidized agricultural machinery.

The meeting was chaired by President Neeshu Rathi and conducted by Cooperator Sushil Rathi, with attendance from senior officials, cooperative leaders, and representatives of all 66 villages under the committee’s jurisdiction.
