A meeting in Leh, chaired by District Registrar of Cooperatives Huma Khan, marked Ladakh’s preparations for the International Year of Cooperatives 2025. Assistant Registrars from multiple blocks and a representative from the National Cooperative Development Corporation joined cooperative societies including Looms of Ladakh, TR Service, Laga Multipurpose, Handicraft Industrial, and several women-led and artisan groups, media reports say.
The discussion focused on challenges in credit access, market linkages, skills, and scheme-based support. Officials stressed collaborative governance, transparency, innovation, and new NCDC initiatives.
The session reaffirmed a commitment to strengthening Ladakh’s cooperative network and advancing local economic empowerment.
